Visit Canada
Every year, more than 35 million people visit Canada to enjoy the many
opportunities the country has to offer. Canada welcomes tourists, students or
temporary workers.
There are certain entry requirements depending on where the applicant resides
and the reason for the visit. In some cases, if applicant plans to stay in Canada
for a certain period of time, he/she will need a Temporary Resident Visa.
To visit Canada, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have a valid travel document, such as a passport;
be in good health; - Must satisfy an immigration officer that there is strong ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take back to country of origin
- Must satisfy an immigration officer that the applicant will leave Canada at the end of visit; and
- Must have enough money for stay in Canada. The amount of money needed can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long will stay and whether will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives.
- May also need:
- A Temporary Resident Visa, depending on country of citizenship
- A Temporary Resident Visa, depending on country of citizenship
- A medical examination; and
- A letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.
Parent and Grandparent Super Visa
Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents may be eligible to apply for parent and grandparent supervise.
The visa is valid for up to 10 years and will allow the parents and grandparents to visit their family in Canada for up to two years without renewing your status.
